​Events

Two major fundraising events are held each year to assist with the financial needs of the LVFD. The annual Market Days is held in the Fall and Lamardigras celebration is held the second weekend in February. In addition we conduct a letter drive in September each year to local property owners as another way of receiving financial assistance.

All proceeds go toward Lamar fire department facilities, equipment and training. The Lamar Fire Department is 100% volunteer and is one of three departments in the Aransas County fire fighting team.

​Annual Famous Fireman's Brisket BBQ with events at the fire station including: 

• Fireman's BBQ brisket sale
• Car Show & Shine
• Vendors
• Women's Club bake sale
• Chinese Auction

This annual event occurs in the fall.

​Lamardigras

LaMardiGras is a themed party based on Mardi Gras combined with our local flare. This annual event occurs the second weekend of February at the station. This celebration starts Friday evening at 5pm and concludes Saturday night at 11pm.  Activities include a parade, live music, cold beer, themed food, auctions, casinos, and more.
